My daughter has to do community service projects for her Confirmation this year. Most of her friends hate this part of the confirmation program but as a family we have always done community service. My husband and I feel strongly about giving back when we can.
For one of her projects she decided to contact the local Meals on Wheels in our town and ask if she could create Valentine Treats for them. She was told to make 16 of what ever she decided to make.
I was so proud of her – she decided to bake chocolate chip cookies and package them up for everyone.
Here is what she created ~

We delivered them tonight right after the cookies cooled and she could package them up!
I think that she enjoyed it so much that she is actually thinking about volunteering to do this type of thing for them once a month. I know if she does I will be offering to help her out. I think it was a wonderful idea. One from the heart.

Let her know she did a great job and I hope that everyone that sees it will be inspired to
volunteer just like she did.

That is so great & I’m sure the people will love it!

What an awesome gesture! I’m sure she got a glimpse of how much older folks appreciate any act of kindness…it DOES make a difference in their lives! A monthly treat would be SO wonderful…I hope she is able to do it…and your giving spirit is evident in the child you are raising! That is AWESOME!!! π Kudos to your family!
