…how to get to Sesame Street?
Hi Stampers,
Do you remember that theme song? I do. Growing up Sesame Street was one of my kids favorite shows. Today I thought I would have some fun using Stampin' Up! Punches ~
According to A & E's Biography, Ernie and Bert were virtually the only Muppets to appear in the Sesame Street pilot episode. It was screen tested to a number of families in July 1969. Their brief appearance was the only part of the pilot that tested well. It was then decided that not only should Muppet characters be the "stars" of the show, but would also interact with the human characters, something that was not done in the pilot.
Ernie and Bert were designed by Don Sahlin based on two fruits. Bert was based on a banana and Ernie was an orange.
Today is there first appearance anniversary!
What has this got to do with stamping you ask? Well I needed a birthday card for a friends son and decided to try to recreate Bert (his favorite character on the show) using Stampin' Up! punches.
Check it out ~
I forgot one very important feature ~ Bert has a unibrow!
I added his brow but have not yet uploaded that version of the card.
I promise to switch it out with this one as soon as I can upload it.
So what do you think?
Not too bad for a punched version of Bert!
Sesame Street Characters have always been fun to recreate using SU punches.
