Hi Everyone ~
Happy Summer~
On or around June 21 each year, the rays of the sun will be
perpendicular to the Tropic of Cancer at 23°30' North latitude. This
day is the summer
solstice in the Northern Hemisphere.
As a major
celestial event, the Summer Solstice results in the
longest day
and the shortest night of the year. The Northern
Hemisphere celebrates
in June, but the people on the Southern half of the
earth have
their longest summer day in December.
I am just so happy that SUMMER is here! The warm sun, blue skies, Italian ices, swimming, picnics, flowers, fresh vegetables, 4th of July, firework displays ~ I love it all.
When I think of summer the first colors that come to my mind are Red, White, & Blue. They say SUMMER to me. It starts with Memorial Day in May, Flag Day in June, & 4th of July in July of course!
So I thought I would make a couple cards with my favorite summer colors ~
This first card is partial cased. I had seen something similar to it but I changed it up a bit to create this one.
I love using my Big Shot to create fun textured background. I also used the Stampin' Up! star and scallop square punch to create three fun focal points on the card.
I created this card to look like an American Flag. I used the Stampin' Up! gel pen to create some stitching and stamped the Thank You along the white strips.
Thanks for stopping by today. I would love you to think about what colors remind you most of summer and create a few cards with those colors.
Send me an email or leave me a message sharing with me you colors and the cards you created.
I would love to post your cards on my blog.
Happy Stamping ~
