I am so sorry I have not posted regularly for the past few weeks. June has just been incredibly hectic for me.
Feel free to skip down over my explanation and go right to some Graduation Cards I created.
My life for the past 2 weeks ~
I sprained my right ankle, my Uncle passed away after a short battle with Cancer ( I will miss him), we had relatives come in for the services from all over. They always seem to gravitate to my parents home which means I needed to be there to help out. My parents are up there in age and can't be expected to do it all all the time anymore.
Then my mom sprained her right ankle!!!! So I have been there everyday doing chores, cooking and helping where I can. One of the chores was weeding which didn't turn out well for me – I now have a ton of poison Ivy all over my hands and various other places. It just blistered right up. This is making it hard for me to stamp!
But I was able to manage to stamp a little and created some Graduation Cards I need this weekend.
I needed a couple money cards. This Riding Hood Red and Basic Black card was for my nephew. I like to make the cards to match their school colors.
GRADUATION MONEY CARD
I cut the Riding Hood Red 8-1/2 x 11 piece of card stock down to 6 x 7-1/2. Score that at 3" and at 6". Fold on the 3" score line to create your card then fold up the 1-1/2" piece and apply adhesive to the two ends to create a money pocket on the inside of the card.
Decorate card to suit your needs. I used a Retired Stampin' Up! set from a few years ago that I kept for graduation cards. I always loved this set and use it every year.
Here is the same card done in Summer Yellow and Basic Black. I created this card for my sons friend. My son Matt is graduating High School on Saturday June 20th so he has been going to many graduation parties this week.
You can see in this photo that I stamped the envelope. I love it when the envelope matches the card. I feel it gives it such a personal touch.
Don't forget Stampin' Up! is retiring many stamp sets and accessories. They are making room for new stamp sets and accessories in the new 2009 ~ 2010 Idea Book and Catalog being released July 1, 2009.
If you have a stamp set or accessory you have been thinking about purchasing now is the time before they are gone for good. Call or Email me today to place your order.
