Latch Card using Countryside Corners Die
Without a doubt Countryside Corners die set is one of my favorite new dies in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. They are so useful with endless ways to use them. Today I used them to create a latch for my card.
Cardstock & Embellishments:
- Boho Blue Card Stock:
- Card Base – 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
- Die-Cut Flowers – 2 x 3 (before die-cutting)
- Die-cut Flap – 4 x – 6 (before die-cutting)
- Night of Navy Card Sock:
- Die-Cut Flowers – 2 x 2 (before die-cutting)
- Basic White Card Stock:
- Layer on flap – 3 x 4 1/2
- Inside Layer – 3 1/2 x 5
- Countryside Inn DSP:
- Front piece – 4 x 3 3/4
- Inside piece – 2 x 4 1/4
- Night of Navy 3/8″:
- Approx. a 10″ piece (enough to tie a bow)
- 3 Brushed Brass Butterflies
Tutorial:
- Die Cut pieces: Flowers out of Night of Navy (one large flower) and Boho Blue (3 small flowers) using the Around the Corner die set. Two Flap layers cut from Countryside Corners Die: For the Boho Blue Flap I used the 3 1/2″ x 5″ die and the Basic White I used the 2 1/4″ x 4″ Die
- Cut off 1 1/2″ from one of the short ends of your card base. Leaving a 4″ side. On the outside of the 4″ side (front of card) adhere the 4 x 3 3/4″ piece of DSP.
- Score the Boho Blue Flap at 1″ from the end.
- Looking at your card base where the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ side is at the top adhere the Boho Blue flap so the at score line matches with the top of the 4 1/4″ side. NOTE: Make sure to center it on the short side of your card base and adhere it to the inside of the card. Adhere the 2 x 4 1/4″ piece of DSP over the flap on the inside of your card base. This will cover the flap where you adhered it to the inside of the card making it look nice.
- Adhere the 3 1/2 x 5″ piece your die cut from Basic White to the center of the inside of your card.
- Cut off approx 1/2 to 1″ of the end of the 4 x 3 3/4″ die cut. Enough to leave an even border around it when adhered to the Boho Blue Flap. Stamp your sentiment in Night of Navy Ink.
- Tie a bow around the Boho Blue flap using the Night of Navy ribbon.
- Adhere the cut die cut Basic White Layer over your tied bow on the Boho Blue Flap.
- Embellish the front flap with the 2 smaller flowers and some butterflies.
- Finally, using a dimensional adhere the larger Night of Navy flower to the 4 x 3 3/4″ DSP on the front of your card – being careful to position it in the center just high enough to catch the top flap. That flower will keep your card closed. You can layer that flower with a small Boho Blue flower.
