I am always in the need of gifts for family and friends. Each month I have birthday, anniversary, thank you, and even thinking of you gifts to give. I am trying to be better in 2008 and have them made already but "already" I am behind. I am not going to give up – it is still my goal to be ahead of myself or at least on time. It is so hard with limited time to spend on stamping that I often get frustrated.
With all the outside demands on my time – work, kids schedules, household chores, cooking, & grocery shopping – stamping is often the last on the list and gets the least amount of time.
When I start to see myself getting frustrated I try to remember that I actually love spending time with my kids, driving them around gives me a chance to chat with them, watching their games reminds me of how proud I am of them and all they are able to do, keeping the house clean, grocery shopping, & cooking for them so they know how much I love them. I remind myself that I do all these things (that get in the way of me stamping) out of the love I have for them and that should be enough for me to stop having a pity party.
So as I enjoy my family I still have to figure out a way to get some stamping & scrapping in. After all it is my therapy!
My solution – Easy and fun! I try to keep my gifts simple yet pretty. I don’t want them to look rushed. They really are not rushed. I put a lot of time and thought into them. But I try not to make them too complicated. I like to make them practical – I try to give gifts that I would like to receive. Who doesn’t need cards. I never seem to have enough to give.
As much as we like to think we are busier then anyone else – we have to remember everyone is busy. We all have our lives filled with something. So I love to give a gift that might help that person a bit.
Here is a cute set of cards I made for a Birthday gift. They should have been in the mail last month. Am I ever going to catch up?
For this set I decided to make 4 cards: 2 of each design. I used the same color scheme for both so that even though they are different cards they look like they are a set.
Using the same color scheme is good for two reasons:
1. You already have the colors out so it makes it a fast project.
2. Even though the cards are for different occasions they look like a match set because the colors coordinate.
Here is a picture of the boxed set. I made the cards square to go with
the clear box I had to package them in. I decorated the box with a
belly band to match the cards.
I think they make a great gift for anyone on your list.
I hope you enjoyed this fast and easy project.
I encourage you to create some for the people on your gift giving list.
