I have been running a program called "The 12 Weeks of Christmas".
Every Wednesday until Christmas I am featuring a project that is fun and easy for the Holidays. I have been sending them out to everyone on my newsletter mailing list. SO if you have not subscribed yet – now is a good time to sign up for my free newsletter so that you don’t miss out on any of the upcoming projects or specials.
This Mini Scrapbook Album is the project I featured today.
I love to take pictures. My digital camera makes taking pictures almost too easy. I find that my pictures from any family event or kids’ activity include a number of shots that are great to give to someone else. Instead of sticking these photos into a plain envelope or emailing them, consider making them into a quick, but memorable gift. The mini scrapbook album is a simple, yet elegant way to turn that handful of photos into a striking present for any occasion. With your stamps, you can make the album with any theme you want. The mini scrapbook album holds just the right number of photos and is unbelievably quick and easy to make. No one will think that your gift took only slightly longer than the time it would take you to find an envelope.
Here are the basis directions. Once you have it put together you can decorate it as you like.
Supplies:
2 pieces of card stock measuring 7-1/4" x 4-3/4"-front and back covers.
1 piece of card stock measuring 2" x 4-3/4" – scored at the center – at 1" (so when folded it measures 1" x 4-3/4")-Binding piece.
These three pieces will be the base of your album.
5 clear envelopes-Photo sleeves.
1.
Take the clear envelopes and pull off the taps so that the adhesive on
the flap is exposed and lay them on top of each other. Making sure
they are all even AND the openings for the pictures are all going the
same way. I have them on the top side.
2. Now the top envelope
has the adhesive exposed and you need to attach one of the 7-1/4" x
4-3/4" to the top of the stack of envelopes and the 2nd piece to the
bottom making sure they match up.
3. Take the scored piece of card stock and fit it over the left side of your stack.
4.
Holding it all in place punch two holes into the Binding and attach
eyelets or brads. I used the large eyelets – I love they looked.
5.
Decorate the album anyway you wish. This will depend on what type of
photos you will be putting in it or who you are making it for.
6. I took organdy ribbon and silver cord and tied a bow through the two eyelets.
Once you make one of these you will see how easy and inexpensive it is to make but it is such a nice gift to give.
I
used snowflakes on my album and stamped Mem-or-ies definition from the
Define your Life stamp set on Whisper White card stock and layered that
on Brushed Silver paper. Wrapped silver cord around that and mounted
it the the front bottom right corner.
It is perfect to put a few
Christmas photos in and give to a family member that you may not be
spending Christmas with this year.
