As you all know Stampin’ Up! introduced a new line on July 1st ~ Decor Elements. If you have not heard about it yet click here to read more.
I ordered a few and have been carefully deciding where to put them. The first one up is “Create”. I knew I wanted it in my craft room – but just not sure where.
Here it is above a door in my craft room – visible from my work area. I just love the way it looks on the sage walls. All the trim in the room is chocolate so it match perfectly.
I have a few tips for you when applying the Decor Elements~
1. When you are transferring the image onto the transfer sheet – make sure you rub the entire area. Then start pulling back the grid paper. You objective it to have the image stick to the transfer paper but I will tell you from experience it wanted to stay on the grid paper for me.
2. If you see it wanting to stay on the grid paper – lay the grid paper back down and rub over the image that is sticking. Then pull the grid paper away again. I went slowly and had to do this step a few times for the entire image to release. But it did not take too long at all. A few minutes and some patience.
3. Now position it where you want it on your wall and press lightly with you hands over the entire image so that it adheres to the wall and you can step back and see if it is level and exactly where you want it. When you have it positioned exactly where you want it rub with the tool. I pressed pretty hard.
4. Once it rubbed the entire image I began at one side and lifted the transfer paper slowly and if I saw that it was not adhering to the wall I put the transfer paper back over it and rubbed a little more (harder) and began peeling again. It stuck a few times in different places but I just took my time and it came out beautiful!
Don’t do it in a hurry – take you time and you will love the results! I know I did.
