Good Monday Morning Everyone ~
Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day Weekend! I had a great weekend with my family. Spending time with my family has got to be my favorite past time.
We had some wicked windy days this weekend. But managed to enjoy the weekend anyway.
Today I am home waiting for my new oven to arrive! We cooked for the last time in our faithful oven yesterday. Even did a batch of Chocolate Chip cookies last night.
It really saddens me to say goodbye to this oven it has really worked well for the past 19 years! But one burner has not worked in a few years which makes it hard to cook on holidays. Years ago when cleaning the oven I popped off the button that we used to shut the oven off so I have had to use something sharp to turn off the oven. The light that makes it possible to see the time, temperature never stayed on so I would have to bang the top of the back part of the oven to get it to come on when I wanted to turn on the oven. AND the door to the oven has not really closed tight in many years so I have been unable to lock the oven to put on the self clean. I think we have replaced the igniter about 4 times over the last 19 years. But I have used that oven everyday, baked countless Christmas cookies, many many holidays and it has never let me down. It was just time to replace it.
It is hard sitting here waiting for the delivery guys to come! Can't wait to see it – all shinny and new! We deceived on a GE profile. You hear so many stories about people getting lemons – I am a bit afraid but hoping that everything is working on it the way it should.
Ok – enough about the oven!
I have some STAMPIN' NEWS for you ~
Everyone has heard by now ~ Stampin' Up! is renovating their color families. MANY colors will be retiring in June.
WELL this has caused a surge of people to start stocking up on these much loved retiring colors. As you may guess – causing backorders on paper, inks, and markers.
Stampin' Up! has told us they are doing the best they can to fill all these orders. They anticipated the surge but I think if far exceeded their expectations.
What are they going to do about it?
"We also committed to filling as many orders as possible for
discontinuing products. We will do this by 1) substituting textured
card stock for smooth card stock in cases where we run out of smooth,
and 2) continuing to place orders for other discontinuing items such as
inks and markers in backorder status and work with our vendors to fill
those orders. Some backorders may take weeks to fill, but they will get
filled."
NOTE: Some backorder will not be filled. I will let my customers know when they place an order with me what I am told by Stampin' Up! regarding their order.
STAMPIN' UP! is very sorry for any inconvenience this is causing demonstrators and their customers. They did do extensive research and studies in anticipation of the colors retiring, (going back to the previous color changes, looking at
purchasing trends over several years, considering current buying
behaviors, etc.) to forecast the expected demand through a date that they
felt they could honor for filling orders on discontinued colors.
They have made the most difficult decision to not stop production of the new colors so that when we are able to order them come JULY 1st ~ they will have enough.
Remember it is very hard in this economy to predict just how much customers are able to order.
I ask you to please be patient and understand that Stampin' Up! is doing everything they can to fill these orders.
If you have any questions – please feel free to ~

For those of you who stuck with me through this long winded post I want to show you this fast and easy card you can create in just minutes ~
This card is not my original design. It was created by Shelli Gardner, Co-founder of Stampin' Up!.
It is not duplicated exactly but I believe the flower is very much like Shelli's original. I did not save her original design so I am not sure what sentiment she used on her card.
You really don't need any artistic background to create fabulous cards to send to family and friends. It is so fun to wow them with homemade cards and gifts you have created especially for them.
Shelli has been going all around the United States and Canada doing workshops for various Demonstrators and their customers. She is also taking the time to meet with Demonstrators in these areas. Shelli truly wants to meet as many demonstrators as she can and chat with them – giving demonstrators from all over the US and Canada a chance to ask many questions.
This week Shelli will be in my area and I am so looking forward to spending the night with her and sister Demonstrators discussing Stampin' Up!
I will be posting all about my night later this week!
Happy Stampin~
